But really, why?
Okay, I don't have a lot of time, but I do want to comment on one thing, the New York Times' piece on the supposed John McCain affair with a lobbyist. While I do think that it is a hack job, and I love bashing the Times as much as anyone, I'm not seeing the conspiracy. It would be pointless for an ideologically driven New York Times to launch that particular salvo now, very far in advance of the general election. From an ideologically strategic point of view, it would be stupid to sit on that story and then launch it now, after it can hurt McCain in the primaries but before it can really damage him in the general. Face it, the story is a hack job and little more. There is no C-O-N-spiracy.
