Boobs, hardly newsmen, part 2

In this post a couple of weeks ago, I noted that the New York Daily News would have taken a threat to their backyard more seriously than they took the threat to the Sears Tower. Just for the record, I am right:

The FBI has uncovered what officials consider a serious plot by jihadists to bomb the Holland Tunnel in hopes of causing a torrent of water to deluge lower Manhattan, the Daily News has learned.

The terrorists sought to drown the Financial District as New Orleans was by Hurricane Katrina, sources said. They also wanted to attack subways and other tunnels.

They apparently remember their editorial of a couple of weeks ago, because they make a point of contrasting this with the Miami 7. But a couple of points, mostly based off of this AP report on the attack plans. First, this plan was about as imminent as the Sears Tower plan. The conversation of the plot was being monitored in chat rooms. Second, AP report notes that the Financial District is above sea level and unlikely to flood from an attack. Third and a little tangential, at least no newspapers blew the ongoing investigation into the Miami 7. The Daily News just blew this ongoing investigation with this report.

Now, this isn't to say that the threat wasn't serious and the arrest isn't justified. I think it was a serious threat and the arrest very justafied. I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy of the Daily News, and also that I was 100% correct about them in my previous post.
