I've just finished Michael Moore's column today. Pretty much what I expected. Simple use of a rather cheap rhetorical ploy, complementing the Bushes' for the job they've done raising the girls, and then transitioning without a segue into discussion of the families who have lost loved ones in the Iraq war. He then brings up the fact that Bush should apologize to those parents. That got me thinking. I'd never vote for a man who apologized to the families of fallen soldiers, or even anyone who suggested that it should be done. That would be a completely tasteless move. What better way to extend the grief of families of dead soldiers than to say "I'm sorry I sent your son to war." The only appropriate thing to do is thank them for raising such good sons and daughters, who would sacrifice their lives for the United States of America and all her citizens. It's sad that Michael Moore has pulled the wool over the eyes of so many.
Oh, and I refuse to promote for Michael Moore or his employer this week, so I'm not linking to it. If you'd like to read it, it shouldn't be too hard to find.
