The next few days may be light on postings for me. I'm in the meat of my move right now. Phone, cable, etc, is transferring over, furniture is being moved, blah, blah, blah.
I did make one mistake so far. We've been debating axing our landline and moving the internet service over to cable. I decided to stick it out until my dial up contract expires in March. I should have just done it. SBC is charging me $52 just to disconnect the phone at my old address and connect it at the new. That's equal to 2 months of Charter cable. And for my $52, I don't even get a seemless transfer. They shut down my old line yesterday, and aren't starting the new line until today. Charter is also charging me $19 to transfer my cable, but they gave me about a hundred ways to get that $19 waved. I loathe SBC, and I relish the day I can tell them to stick their phone service because it sucks. I should have done it yesterday instead of waiting. You would think that with the onslaught of cell phones, a company like SBC would bend over backwards to make customers happy. Nope. And they never have. Because of that, they'll be losing me in 5 months or so.
