Although I doubt her politics and mine mesh very well, Katie Simenson of Racine, WI, is my star of the weekend. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, she stood up at the rally and asked why Kerry and Edwards were not addressing Republican talking points such as flip flopping and litigation by trial lawyers driving up health care costs. Edwards gave a canned response (further evidence that he was a terrible choice by Kerry, as the man cannot think on his feet. Surprising for a lawyer). Reporter Sarah Carr says in the story that the question struck a nerve with some of the 150 in attendance.
The polls will eventually reach some sort of an equilibrium as the influence of the RNC starts to fade, but instances like this still indicate that Bush will win going away, because unless the two Johns address the concerns of their base, their base will stay home November 2nd.
