U.K. is scarier than the U.S.

How much scarier, you ask? So much so that kids in the U.K. are starting to wear stab-proof vests:
The vests are made from material too thick for a knife to get through.

Some kids as young as 10 are now asking about stab vests in shops even though shopkeepers aren't allowed to sell them to them without parental permission.
In the U.K. you cannot own a gun, you cannot defend yourself with lethal force, and according to the article, you can't carry a knife. That means if a criminal, who has no qualms about owning a gun or carrying a knife, attacks you, you may as well grab your ankles because there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. Some country, huh? In an effort to prevent violence, they've given criminals carte blanche to beat, stab, and shoot because they have nothing to fear from their victims.
