Firefox Question

I see an increasing number of readers use Firefox, so I have a question for you. I currently use Netscape 7.2 and I love it. I've been one of about 12 loyal Netscape users from day one, and some of their releases previous to 7.0 were brutal. 7.2 is very stable and has a number of Firefox's features. Can you give me reasons I should change to Firefox? I can see why someone would want to change from IE, but Netscape just seems too similar for me to justify the switch. Still, I have an open mind. Sell me on Firefox, please. Email me at ojibway7rj-at-yahoo-dot-com or use the comment section below.

Firefox gets most of its code from Netscape so you're in fact using a cousin of your current browser.

For elderly midget porn, its the best out there or so my aunt tells me. :P

I am not sure if I can 'sell' you Firefox, but I was one of the 12 Netscape users who dropped out after a disastrous v6 from them. I followed the progress and did not believe it when people said 7.x was stable.

I did not care to download it because Netscape was always a version or two ('dot' version or two) behind Mozilla's browser-only product.

I started using Firefox from 0.8 onwards and it has been flawless. It is 'lighter' than Netscape because it does not have mail client, and all the other fluff that is non-browser.

The most useful thing I found in Firefox is the 'Live Bookmarks' feature which enables you to create a bookmark to a news feed, so you can track the latest updates to your favorite feeds without needing a newsreader. Also, it detects certain pages (blogspot, for instance) as 'Live Bookmark capable' and you can simply click on a button and add it to your live bookmark list.

Extension Manager lets you plug in cool and nifty little apps that people write to enable things like checking gmail and such.

Give it a whirl - it is only 4.5MB download and see if you like it. In the browser world, each user has his/her own preferences and because it is free and light, you might as well give it a shot.

Speaking of gmail though, do you need one? I have plenty to give away :-)

RPM-

Yeah, I'd love one. J.Rice was going to get me an invite, but nothing happened, so if there is anything special I need to do on my end, let me know.
