I love fall. Daytime temperatures cool, and the evenings are crisp. Evenings are wonderful for a fire, a hay ride, or a Friday evening high school football game. Smells of wood burning and pies baking waft in the air. The holidays are just around the corner, and no one has yet overdosed on their trappings. Despite all of this, I really f'n hate raking leaves. Posted by Hello

I lucked out a few weeks back as a windy day took all the leaves from my yard and it sounds as if they blew into yours.

Now about this pie smell...all I smell in Fort is McCain onion rings.

When the wind is blowing just right, there is the occasional scent of cat food in this town as well. And breakfast sausage. I second the onion ring deal, though. I used to live near there.

As for the pie thing, I might have been a wee bit over romantic for fall. Baking pies is not a frequent occurence around this house.
