Fair warning: This post is mostly for the bloggers out there. John Hawkins has a post at Right Wing News about the drop in blog traffic that he has noticed lately, both at his site and across the blogosphere. I noticed that, too, which is why it caught my eye, but the comments to the post are even more interesting. It is all speculative, so reading things into them is risky, but a couple of themes emerge. One is blog burnout. Judging by what people are saying, readers are a little burnt out right now. Another is political fatigue. This has larger implications this year. If the Republican base is getting fatigued, then the elections this year could be a bigger challenge for Republicans than I expected.
